OCIs and NRIs no longer need to link Aadhaar with Bank accounts
Every Indian citizen has to link their Aadhar card with their bank account. The deadline for linking the 12-digit UID number on the Aadhar to the bank account was December 31, 2017. However, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has recently clarified that the NRIs don’t have to link their account with PAN or Aadhar card.
OCIs and NRIs cannot apply for Aadhar card, according to the UIDAI, the authority which issues Aadhaar card and biometrics-enabled Aadhar number.
